How WATER Helps You LOSE WEIGHT
Can you believe water can help you lose weight? Here’s how:
TIP 1. Drink 1 large glass of water before each meal. This works because it fills your stomach partially, reduces your appetite, and helps you control how much you eat. Water has zero calories, fat, and cholesterol. That’s why water – not soda – is the best drink.
TIP 2. In addition to tip 1, also drink water regularly throughout the day. This helps you reduce your body fat. How? One of your liver’s main job is to break down fat. When you don’t drink enough water, your kidneys can’t function properly, and your liver therefore steps up to help. But this means your liver is now too busy to effectively do its regular job of breaking down fat. That’s why fat remains stored in your body and you gain weight.
Dr. Donald Robertson at a bariatric center in Arizona states that “proper water intake is key to weight loss. If people who are trying to lose weight don’t drink enough water, the body can’t metabolize fat adequately.”
TIP 3. If you keep forgetting to drink water, try carrying around a water bottle. When you see it in front of you, you’re more likely to do it. The more you drink water, the more you’ll get used to it – and even start liking it.
